SWAE Volume 001

SWAE Volume 001 is a meticulously crafted exploration of dreams, wilderness, and innovation. Bridging ideas past, present, and future, it is intended as a wake-up call to tired spirits and discouraged dreamers stuck in a monotonous way of life.

From writing copy to pushing pixels, my finger prints are all over this publication. It is the culmination of years spent traveling between Portland and Montana, digesting the unique differences between a place that is and a place that should be.

Just 20 Miles from the SWAE campus is the Bob Marshall Wilderness - a revered landscape for everyone in the Flathead Valley. At the center of this book is naturalist Bob Marshall’s essay “The Problem of the Wilderness.” His writing expresses profound hopefulness for those who experience the outdoors, boasting both holistic and economic reasons for its preservation.

This reprinting is accompanied by an annotation regarding the dreams of SWAE. It is both an analysis and a manifesto. As he professes his love for the wilderness, he simultaneously reveals an outlandish desire for something better. For a dream.
